Our education collaborators are working on programs to implement the app in STEM classrooms and clubs for kids and teens nationally and around the world to learn about how engineering shapes our every day lives. Kids and teens in these programs will be invited to connect with engineers through the app so they can meet and interact with professionals in their fields of interest. Please contact us to learn more about the program and how you can participate.

Project Management

I am...

A senior Civil Engineering student at Brigham Young University - Idaho.

I chose to be a Civil Engineer because...

I discovered that civil engineering gave me an opportunity to make a difference in today's infrastructure and the prospect of being known for creating innovative designs and worthwhile projects is exhilarating to me.

I like my job because...

Project management is about both office and field work and the translation between them. This allows me a greater and deeper understanding of the project and comprehension for future use on similar projects. It also helps me build valuable communication and organization skills.

My typical day at work involves...

Visiting job sites to figure out a project's needs. Making sure materials get approved by engineers. Putting together price estimates for future projects.

I want others to know...

In Civil Engineering (or any STEM career) you won't regret learning about how you can make a difference to this world's innovative infrastructure and technology.

My STEM education has helped me ...

Learn to think critically and in a way I didn't understand before. It is hard to explain but I get so much more enjoyment from solving problems in my position because I now know much better how to come up with a solution.

This is My Story

Engineering design and analysis started to become an interest to me as a teenager when I was doing one of my favorite hobbies: attending college football games with my family. These college football games we attended were held in a massive stadium with the capacity to hold tens of thousands of people. This started to amaze me. Understanding how that was possible slowly became a vision I had for my life. Even though I experimented with different interests at the beginning of my college experience I would come back to this desire to understand the complex situations in structural design.
